An Exemption Letter is a document issued by a Conformity
Assessment Agency accredited in the State System of Technical Regulation of the
Republic of Kazakhstan confirming that the products
are not subject to mandatory certification
An Exemption Letter is issued on the letterhead of the
Conformity Assessment Agency and certified with its seal

An Exemption Letter is required when it is not
entirely clear under which code of the Common Customs Tariff of the Customs Union of
the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation
(CCT code) or the State Commodity Classifier for Foreign Economic Activities
under the Civil Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan 04‑2008 (CC FEA code) the
products may be classified
Exemption
Letters must be presented to customs agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan during customs clearance of imported goods or presented to the buyer
(customer), if the terms and conditions of the delivery contract stipulate the
availability of a certificate of conformity for goods not subject to mandatory
conformity assessment
An Exemption Letter containing the following is sent
to the Applicant addressed to the manager who made the application: the name of
the document used as the basis for issuing the letter, the full name of the
product and the CCT code. For presentation to customs authorities, the letter
may contain additional information on the specific contract and/or invoice
under which the products are being imported
When all
documents are presented, an Exemption Letter is drawn up and issued within 1 to
3 days
